So after a month off blogging, I am back! You may have seen if you follow me on Instagram that back at the end of March my boyfriend and I had a week off in the sun and I was lucky enough to be gifted some vouchers to spend in duty-free on my way out there! I had so much fun browsing and perusing the different concessions and landed in paradise with my makeup bag perfectly prepped for Spring.
One of the reasons I love World Duty Free is not just because you can shop all of your favourite beauty outlets in one place, it’s that there are exclusive products you can’t find anywhere else and it’s cheaper than the high street! I was on the hunt for a few bits to perk up my makeup bag for spring, I still love a high coverage matte base but I like to switch up my colour palettes. Lighter pink lips and a gloss instead of mattes and bronze, coral-toned blushes instead of my usual flush of pink. I do wear a pretty heavy face of makeup day to day but getting the products right makes the world of difference not only on how it looks but how my skin reacts once I take it all off at the end of the day.
Products I picked;
Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation
This is a repurchase for me I used to wear this about 2 years ago, it’s full coverage and matte but still looks bright and luminous which is rare from a foundation with this kind of coverage. Clinique have an amazing range of shades and will be more than happy to help colour match you. This claims its 2 in 1 and doubles as a concealer, which I would vouch for only because it’s high coverage enough I don’t need concealer, but I don’t love it under my eyes so I prefer to stick to my glossier concealer for that.
Nars Sunwashed Bronzer in Laguna
The only thing that’s stopped me buying this iconic bronzer in the past is the glitter, when this matte version was released I knew it would be my next bronzer once I’d finished my current one up. I’m hoping it’s because I’m still quite tan, but I haven’t completely loved the pigmentation on this, it takes quite a lot of work to build up any colour? We shall see…
The Dior Travel Lip Set (Dior Lip glow balm and Dior Lip maximiser)
I knew going into Duty Free that I had my eyes on one of these but when the super lovely Dior consultant showed me that they had a travel exclusive set that had both! I was sold, I wore this combo together and separately throughout my holiday and fell in love. The balm adjusts to your best pink and is beautifully velvety and not greasy at all. The lip maximiser has that tingling sensation we know and love from plumping glosses, but unlike most this is a delicate rosy sheen that’s not sticky at all and lasts for ages, I’d almost say it’s more of a lip oil than a gloss tbh.
So there we have it, my mini haul from World Duty-Free and a spring makeup bag refresh perfect for the warming weather! A massive thanks to World Duty-Free for gifting me so generously with vouchers to spend.
