For today’s blog post I wanted to introduce you to two power products I’ve had in my routine for two or three months now and could honestly say that although they are pricey I will be 100% re-purchasing them as soon as they’re finished because I’ve never noticed such a gentle and subtle change in my skin. These products are of course the Oscar Renaissance cleansing gel and Renaissance mask both of which were gifted got from the team at Indulge beauty.
A little bit of a summary about Indulge beauty because I think it’s a highly underrated site, they stock dozens and dozens of the leading brands all fantastic prices. Kind of similar to into cult beauty but I think they have a wider range of products and everything from hairdryers and electronics to fragrances and homeware fragrances as well as your make-up, skincare, body care ect. An amazing place to shop if you want such a wide range of products, they do have a store in Westfield in East London but you can find them online as well they’ve become one of my first favourite companies to shop with and they are also part of the fragrance shop so you know that the service you’re getting is going to be legit.
Okay so onto the products the first one I want to talk about is the Oskia Renaissance cleansing gel, it’s by far worthy of its cult status within the industry and having heard Lily pebbles and Anna Edits talk about this cleanser for years and years I was so excited to try it for myself. It’s for all skin types but it’s particularly good for combination skin or really dry or dull complexions. It’s a gel to oil cleanser that melts into your skin and removes any impurities and make-up but it’s got such an illuminating nourishing kind of feel to it. Normally moisturising cleansers don’t work for me because I tend to feel like my skin is weighed down and my oily parts of my skin are greasy feeling. My skin feels really soft and smooth after using this and I’ve found my combination skin less noticable since using this.
So there is a range of key active ingredients in this product but it’s known to be an enzyme-based cleanser and that’s why you get that brightening effect because it’s essentially working to exfoliate and remove those impurities and dead skin cells to leave clean and bright skin. So it’s got vitamin a which improves the appearance of sun damage for dry and mature skin it also has vitamins C and E which are known for their restorative properties as well as being antioxidants to recover your skins natural luminosity. A brightening favourite is the pumpkin enzymes which deeply cleanse pores and remove all the dead skin cells but they do in a way that it’s not irritating to the skin so for those of you like me that are a bit acne-prone you don’t have to worry about this breaking you out because it is really gentle. It also has MSM, which detoxifies your skin drawing out all those impurities and is also collagen boosting and anti-inflammatory. All of these ingredients work in harmony to deliver deeply cleansed, stronger, brighter, calmer skin.
I always use this is my second cleanse so I’ll go in with something like the dermalogica pre-cleanse oil to remove all of my make up in the evening and then I’ll use this Oskia cleanse after and really focus on massaging it into my nose, my chin, my forehead and all those places where my skin tends to get a bit congested and I’ll leave it on my skin for about 30 seconds to a minute maybe in the morning I’ll brush my teeth whilst I wait and then I just take a warm washcloth and instead of kind of rubbing at it I will just pat away any excess and I’m just left with a really soft calm glowing skin.
Okay now onto the Renaissance mask, this one is a bit pricey coming in at £55 for 50 mil but I’ve had mine since maybe March/April time, I’ve used it once a week once every other week and I have not even touched the surface of it really and it is one of the most incredible masks I’ve ever used and it’s won best mask awards across the industry so you know that there is some fact behind is not just hype, this is actually an incredible product. It’s one of only two masks I’ve ever used that leaves me with instant better skin which let’s face it it’s what we all want from our facemasks. So moving onto the consistency of this mask, it has that gel feel that the cleanser has and what’s really interesting is that you apply this to a dry face, put it on your forehead or your cheek and gently massage it until that kind of pink clear consistency turns into almost like a foam and it has like a velvety moose type texture and it will turn white on your face and that’s when you know that you’ve activated all those ingredients. Then you just leave it on your skin, until it’s gone if you can’t see any more. The first couple of times I used this mask my skin was obviously so dehydrated and when I put it on and it was white and kind of velvety foam type texture my skin was actually bone dry after about 20 minutes because my skin must have just sucked up all of the nutrients and all the goodness.
The purpose of this mask is to removes any tired skin cells and boost cell regeneration so that not only are you going to be left with brighter and clearer skin straight after using it your skin will actually be brighter in the two or three days after you’ve used this mask as well so it seriously is magic stuff. It would be amazing for a nice gift for someone special if you know they love beauty products and would appreciate the power of a good mask.
Especially after such a long dark cold winter I loved testing this mask in the spring I found that even though I was really pale was looking a little ghostly, this mask really picked up my skin and left me looking way more awake. I will definitely be reaching for this more in the winter just because it helps to build up those barriers in your skin and keeping me glowing all winter long.
