Jurlique has been one of my favourite skincare brands for years now, it’s hard to believe their products are all natural when the results are so good. The rose moisture mask has been a staple in my routine for forever, nothing harsh, nothing unnecessary, no gimmicks just healthy happy skin.
Which brings me (very excitedly) to talk about their new Nutri-define range. Aimed at more mature, ageing skin it’s packed full of incredible technology which actually stems from their farming methods! Now obviously at the age of 24 my skin is no where near ageing but what did appeal is that this range is designed to replump and refirm the skin, which given that I’ve just finished a very busy season at work of very little time outside, even less sleep and not as much water as I should have been drinking (naughty I know) I felt as though this range is exactly what my skin needed.
So lets dig into the ingredients and that all important farming method and then I’ll walk you through the products I’ve been loving and why. So Jurlique are famed for their organic farming, they use the moon to decide when to harvest. “At our biodynamic farm, we harvest the Spilanthes flower only on days when the moon passes through the “Air and Light” signs of Libra, Gemini and Aquarius; flowers, substance, and colour thrive during these stages of the moon cycle, making it the optimal time to harvest.” How clever is that?!
Spilanthes extract is what’s going to impact your skins ability to produce collagen, giving you that plumped up skin that keeps us looking youthful and fresh. Horseradish is used to firm the skin and improve elasticity and the new science-y bit is the Biosome-6 which is a liposome delivery system that stabilises 6 botanical extracts picked from the Jurlique farm which penetrate into your deeper layers of skin and helps with hydration.
Yes please. I’d like a great big scoop of all of the above, on my skin immediately, please and thank you!
So the range sounds amazing, but I was kindly gifted some pieces of the new range to trial, so lets get into the good stuff. It sounds amazing but is it as good as it says.
Nutri-Define Supreme Rejuvenating Serum
Ok so I took my makeup off and cleansed with my normal cleanser and toner and then got down to this. I took 2 pumps as normal and it’s a really gorgeous gel formula, super easy to apply, feels almost cooling on the skin (which may just be because the bottle had been sat in my chilly bathroom overnight) but sank in really quickly and left my skin feeling not instantly dry but it did feel very hydrating on the skin.
Nutri-Define Supreme Eye Contour Balm
Ok so this was the big one for me, I was sooo excited to try this because of the aforementioned busy work season my under eyes needed some serious love! This product however I would definitely describe as a balm, it comes with a little metal applicator which is nice and cooling so good for puffy under eyes but I will say because its a balm rather than a cream its not that easy to apply with the applicator, it’s quite a stiff cream texture so doesn’t exactly glide under the eye, I preferred putting this on with my ring finger as I normally would, felt very hydrating and I wanted to wait a bit before putting concealer or any makeup on as it did sit quite heavy on the skin. My under eyes did feel more hydrated and for sure less puffy which we’re all thankful for because it was getting hairy for a minute there. Overall a really nice product, but maybe one for the evening so it has proper time to sink in and I’d maybe skip the applicator.
Nutri-Define Supreme Restorative Light Cream
This may be premature given that I haven’t given the serum long enough to show results yet but I think the light cream might be my favourite. A super light gel/cream type formula I could feel my skin sucking this up almost instantly, a great day cream and leaves a velvety texture to the skin after thats perfect for makeup application. I have combination skin so prefer something lighter and oil free during the day otherwise my makeup just flies everywhere hence why I can see this becoming a permanent fixture in my Spring skincare rotation.
So there’s my thoughts on the new range, a dream to use and I can’t wait to see the benefits in a few weeks, I’ll be sure to update this post, but on first impressions once again Jurlique have proven the power of natural ingredients.
