So it’s officially that time of year, and if like me you’re only just starting your Christmas shopping then you’re in luck because I have some incredible gifts to share with you. Christmas is my favourite time of year and being able to spoil my family is the best feeling ever. I enjoy gift giving so much, I start thinking about the next Christmas pretty much straight away and have a secret Pinterest board that I save all my gift ideas to which makes Christmas shopping that much easier. I’ve created a round-up of some of the most beautiful and thoughtful gifts and I hope this provides some inspiration – happy shopping!
Beauty
Shopping for the beauty obsessive in your life can often be tricky, knowing what skin type they have, what colours they wear and if they have any ingredient sensitivities can be a minefield. I prefer to steer away from the ‘everyday’ kind of products like body lotion or foundation and go for something a bit more fun, like this Ultimate Holiday palette from Pixi. The packaging is a gorgeous twist on their traditional mint and the copper always screams Christmas!
This palette is split into three, matte eyeshadows, glitter/shimmer eyeshadows and the centre section are blushes, bronzers and highlighters. It’s absolutely stunning and would make the perfect gift, honestly, as I opened this I realised I don’t know of any other eyeshadows I’m going to need for a very long time. Each colour is a good size (so if you love the one you don’t have to worry about running out) and it folds away so compact it’s perfect for travelling! If you’ve read some of my previous posts you’ll know this year I’ve become such a big fan of Pixi products, both their skincare and makeup really hit the mark for me in every way! Beautiful formulas, fun packaging, and impressive results, this PixiGlow palette has been one of my most used palettes this not only because of how versatile it is (erm hello 3 in one product that can also be used as an eyeshadow in a pinch) but because the colours give such a pretty glow to the skin you get that Victorias Secret Angel kinda feeling.
For the glitter obsessive in your life, one of their ‘liquid fairy lights’ eye glitter would go down a treat! I mean come on with a name like liquid fairy lights what’s not to love! Perfect for new years eve parties!
Another of my favourite brands is Jurlique, their skincare is second to none and they use all natural and organic ingredients. Their products both work really well, and smell amazing! Plus the packaging on their gift sets is stunning. This gift set is ideal for the woman in your life that’s always on the go, the rose facial mist is great for refreshing your makeup during the day and the rose hand cream is a bit of everyday luxury that we all deserve.
A fragrance is another Christmas classic, if you don’t know the persons signature scent then I’d stick to a 30ml or 50ml bottle rather than splashing out for the full 100ml. This Gucci Guilty perfume from the Fragrance Shop is a great gift and I’ve been loving wearing it for the past few weeks, a little more dressed up than my usual go-to but a fun scent for Christmas.
Some other ideas would be something like this gorgeous white jade face roller or these tinted lip balms from Gatineau would make amazing presents for the person who has it all! Keihls and one of my new favourite brands e-cooking have gorgeous gift sets and you can never go wrong.
For him
I find the men in my life notoriously hard to buy for, the guys who have everything and the guys who are just plain fussy haha! A few gift ideas I’ve had over the years have gone down pretty well. First up, magazine subscriptions, truly the gift that keeps on giving all year round and there’s normally always some amazing deals to be had as well. I’m a huge fan of giving homeware as Christmas gifts but it can be hard to know what style your loved one prefers, something like this gorgeous set of Dartington Crystal glasses is great for a guy who loves a pint at home on a Saturday afternoon. Beautifully boxed and a gift they’ll keep for years, Dartington Crystal is such incredible quality and this time of year they have so many gift sets there’ll be something for everyone.
At Christmas, its hard not to give the gift of something cosy, some snuggly pyjama bottoms or fuzzy slippers are a pretty safe bet no matter who you’re shopping for! Another Christmas classic for guys is fragrance, I love the smell of this Pepe Jeans fragrance and it’s so clean smelling it won’t leave you with a headache like some men’s fragrances do. A thoughtful idea for the traveller in your life is this scent addict atomiser from the fragrance shop, it allows you to dispense 10ml from your full-size bottle, which makes it perfect for hand luggage!
So that’s it for my 2018 Gift Guide! I’m sure I’ll be doing one again next year but if you need even more inspiration check out last years! Hope this has given you some more ideas on gifts and I wish you a very merry and relaxing Christmas!
